We'd love to accept your patches and contributions to this project. For minor changes or bug fixes please feel free to just send a PR. For larger changes you are welcome to reach out ahead of time to discuss.
In either case there are some guidelines follow:
Contributions to this project must be accompanied by a Contributor License Agreement (CLA). You (or your employer) retain the copyright to your contribution; this simply gives us permission to use and redistribute your contributions as part of the project. Head over to https://cla.developers.google.com/ to see your current agreements on file or to sign a new one.
You generally only need to submit a CLA once, so if you've already submitted one (even if it was for a different project), you probably don't need to do it again.
All submissions, including submissions by project members, require review. We use GitHub pull requests for this purpose. Consult GitHub Help for more information on using pull requests.
All pull requests will be automatically checked against our unit tests and the Pyink and Pylint linters. Issues identified by these checks will be visible in the Github pull request interface. These will need to be resolved before your pull request can be accepted.
If your pull request introduces meaningful new functionality, we expect it to also include tests demonstrating that it works properly. These tests also defend your new functionality from future changes which might otherwise silently break it.
